Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a Federal program designed to help people who are 65 or older, blind, or disabled and have little or no income by providing cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter.  This money can help pay hospital bills.

If you qualify for SSI, you may also qualify for Medicaid. If you have SSI and Medicare, the state will pay your Medicare premiums and copays and deductibles.

For complete information on SSI eligibility requirements and the application process, please visit the US Social Security Administration.
