Lung CT screening aids in early detection of lung cancer at Baptist East
A new, low-dose lung CT screening is now available at Baptist East and Baptist Eastpoint.
Lung CT is a painless, CT screening of the chest to detect lung cancer at its earliest stage. Recent research has shown that early detection leads to better outcomes – in fact, more than 80 percent of lung cancers have a chance to be cured if detected at an early stage.
Candidates for the screening are current or former smokers, 55-75 years old. Former smokers need to have quit within the last 10 years. The cost for the progressive screening is $185, but the advantage to current or ex-smokers is invaluable.
