Bluegrass Family Health and Central Baptist Hospital team up to create a new fully-insured product
Since last summer, Bluegrass Family Health and Central Baptist Hospital have been working together to create a new innovative 3-tier health benefit plan for employers in Lexington and the surrounding counties. In August 2011, the Kentucky Department of Insurance granted Bluegrass Family Health the long awaited approval to begin marketing the Central Baptist Hospital Preferred Network product in the counties of: Anderson, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Harrison, Jessamine, Scott and Woodford.
The 3-Tier approach provides 3 levels of benefits, with Tier 1 requiring the lowest cost share amounts for consumers: Tier 1 – Preferred Central Baptist Hospital Network Benefits; Tier 2 – Bluegrass Family Health In-Network Benefits; and Tier 3: Out-of-Network Benefits.
The Central Baptist Preferred Network includes physicians and group practices employed by Central Baptist Hospital or contracted by Central Baptist Hospital to provide services. The Tier 1 Network also includes any facility owned by Central Baptist Hospital and any physician or group that maintains a practice location on the grounds of the Central Baptist Hospital Campus. At this time, we are working to expand the product to the Richmond and Madison County area.
Creation of marketing and communication materials is underway. The launch of the new product is anticipated for January 1, 2012. We will keep everyone posted on our results.
